Claudio
Dear forumites, I present to you a newly adquired ribbon bar.... I was trying to come up with an identification of the recipient, but I am afraid, although the awards' combination could be quite unique, it could be impossible because the lack of some rolls (like for example of the Kreuz für treue Dienste of Schaumburg-Lippe)Preussen, EK2 1914Preussen, HHOX (schöne Schwerterauflage mit französichen Parierstangen)Preussen, RAO4KrPreussen, DA25 Offz.Schaumburg-Lippe, Kreuz für treue DiensteHamburg, Hanseatisches KreuzGriechenland, Erlöser-Orden, RK in Gold http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Order_of_the_Redeemer Because of the backing (typical Godet style, dark blue), I thought immediately it should be a bar of a Kriegsmarine officer. Any comments or suggestions are most appreciated. Thanks in advance! ciao, Claudio
M Hunter
Claudio, What a beautiful ribbon bar. Best wishes Matt
Paul C
I did a quick look and no luck. If the GE3 was late in 1914 then there is not much hope of finding him. The HOH3x and RAO4kr combo is to common.
Claudio
Nevertheless, thanks Paul for trying... I thought that maybe with the SL Kreuz für treue Dienste I could have had more chances to find him. I don't think that many SL KtD were awarded in WWI. ciao, Claudio
Dave Danner
An RAO4Kr and DA without a Centenary Medal is odd. Is there any chance that that is an LD1 or perhaps even a Kronenorden?
Claudio
Hi Dave! The ribbon is too dark to be a KO, but I didn't think about the LD1... of course, that it would be even more plausible, since there's no Centenary Medal... good observation! ciao, Claudio
