Paul R Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 Pvt Lloyd Geesey was with the Ambulance Corps during WW1. He ended the war with the Victory Medal and in 1932, received the Purple Heart for wounds sustained during the war.
Paul R Posted December 23, 2012 Author Posted December 23, 2012 Next page. The book was started after his return stateside.
Paul R Posted December 23, 2012 Author Posted December 23, 2012 A booklet that he was issued that reviews the history of the war and etc. Lots of cool information.
Paul R Posted December 23, 2012 Author Posted December 23, 2012 Here is the label from his medical response gunbag. These were kept inside of the ambulance.
Paul R Posted December 23, 2012 Author Posted December 23, 2012 The next item is one of his old armbands.
Paul R Posted December 23, 2012 Author Posted December 23, 2012 And finally, some of his bringbacks. He also has a ton of post cards, which outline some of the destruction and etc of the Western Front. Too many to post, unless there is some interest.
Hugh Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 Maybe you could show us a sampling of the more interesting post cards. Hugh
keith Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 A Cigarette case. Nice momentos to have of a WW1 relative, thanks for sharing them. I am not being critical but I believe this silver colored case is for a razor and not cigarettes?
Paul R Posted December 24, 2012 Author Posted December 24, 2012 I will go through and post some of the better post cards within the next day or so. You know, that could be could be a razor case. I was just speculating on the purpose. It would be cool of the contents were still in there.
Herman Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 Paul, perhaps some nice pictures of both his medals would be fine. Herman
Paul R Posted December 24, 2012 Author Posted December 24, 2012 I wish I had his medals... :-( I am going to purchase some contemporary examples, including the clasps he was entitled to, and frame them up. I think that he was buried with his medals.
Paul R Posted December 26, 2012 Author Posted December 26, 2012 Thank you Sir!! I appreciate it. I am just glad that I wound up with them, versus them being tossed.
