Aurelius Posted March 27, 2013 Author Posted March 27, 2013 Indeed, a great choice. Aside from the upper echelons in books, I've never seen an award for a lower ranking foreign soldier.
redoctober Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Norm, Read jumping Joe Beyrles book, decorated by the US and Soviets in WW2 a true survivor of ever there was one. He has a wiki page too. Tom
Hauptmann Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 A great thread!!!! I too would love one to someone involved in some significant way with an event that's in the history books. Would love to have an award to a female... especially to an officer and have it include a photo(s) with at least one of them showing the same award(s) I have. That last goes for a man or woman. Having a picture makes more of a personal connection... but then seeing the same awards in the photo... that to me is the ultimate. Especially if there is someone special about one of the awards... a bit of missing enamel... a bent portion of the award... something that matches what is in ones hand. Dan
Aurelius Posted April 1, 2013 Author Posted April 1, 2013 Dan da man, I was wonderin where you were. Good to see you. Great interesting choices. Female snipers, night witches, etc.etc. are out there and likely one of us has those in our non researched yet awards.
