Jim Baker Posted February 15, 2006 Posted February 15, 2006 Post your naval vessels here. Ships, boats, subs, any era, any nation.
Gordon Williamson Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 Late war Type XXIII U-Boat in 1/72 scale. Its a multi-media kit, part injection moulded plastic, part resin and part etched brass.
Gordon Williamson Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 A look down into the conning tower (pardon the shaky hand). Not much room in there
Jim Baker Posted March 1, 2006 Author Posted March 1, 2006 Hi Gordon,Very nice! Is this the boat from "Special Navy"??Thank you for posting it. It's only fitting you should have the first post here.
Gordon Williamson Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 Yup, its the Special Navy kit . They are releasing a Type II at some point which should be rather nice if this Type XXIII is anything to go by.Here is a 1/35 "Hecht" mini-sub as used by the Kleinkampfmittelverb?nde.
Jim Baker Posted March 2, 2006 Author Posted March 2, 2006 Nice. I think you are luring me into the iron coffins.I'll just try and pretend they are tanks without tracks.
Snoopy Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 HelloI would like to show you my model of the "Kursk". It's built from the Tamiya kit. I hope you like it. Snoopy

Chris Clark Posted July 7, 2007 Posted July 7, 2007 gordon are yours both kits? and snoopy did you have to cut the model in half or came in half form ?
Gordon Williamson Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 gordon are yours both kits? and snoopy did you have to cut the model in half or came in half form ?Chris,Yes, the Type XXIII is a standard plastic moulded kit in 1/72 so goes well with the Revell Type VII. It has additional parts in resin and photo-etched brass so is really classed as "multi-media". Its from Czech manufacturer MPM in their "Special Navy" range, but widely available in the UK. The "Hecht" is a solid resin cast kit by Verlinden.
Snoopy Posted November 1, 2007 Posted November 1, 2007 gordon are yours both kits? and snoopy did you have to cut the model in half or came in half form ?Hello ChrisSorry for taking so long time to answer your question. The Kursk is a model from Tamiya, and it came as a waterline model.RegardsSnoopy
