They are releasing a Type II at some point which should be rather nice if this Type XXIII is anything to go by.Here is a 1/35 "Hecht" mini-sub as used by the Kleinkampfmittelverb?nde. It has additional parts in resin and photo-etched brass so is really classed as "multi-media". Its from Czech manufacturer MPM in their "Special Navy" range, but widely available in the UK.
