Chris Boonzaier Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 So I will just discreetly show these without comment.....
The Prussian Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 (edited) I think, Chip will visit you with a thing, consists of a barrel and a trigger... It´s only 1000 mls... Edited May 15, 2013 by The Prussian
Chip Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 I prefer to think that this particular pair is from the Prussian Jäger Batl. Nr.3. (before they became storm troops, of course.) Chip
Chris Boonzaier Posted May 17, 2013 Author Posted May 17, 2013 Hi, they came from a 1915ish grouping of a Snow Shoe dude... :-) Some Photos, diaries and postcards... unfortunately i missed out on the other bits :-( Here he was sent some stuff from a guy from one of the bavarian batalions... but this went waaaaay to high for me.... http://www.ebay.de/itm/Tagebuch-Erinnerungen-I-bayr-Batl-Steinitzer-Alpenkorps-Tirol-1915-Italien-52-/370811584037?pt=Militaria&hash=item565617be25&nma=true&si=Z%252BzPEspyu4AfKhQYND%252B4Sf%252B0e3Q%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
Chris Boonzaier Posted May 17, 2013 Author Posted May 17, 2013 Cant believe it!! Just by coincidence, i found an almost mint copy of the Jäger Regt 3 history.... on amazon !! printed in 1929.... and cost...... EUR25 !!!! I ordered and waited and waited for a mail to come saying "sorry, that item sold months ago..." but it arrived in the mail today!!
The Prussian Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 Unbelievable! Congratulations! If I need a book badly, I´ll give you the job to look for...
Chip Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 (edited) OK, OK. Maybe there is a slight possibility. I'd be jealous about the book, but I already have a copy. I actually paid less (but that was in 1981). Chip Edited May 18, 2013 by Chip
Hoss Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Peace in the valley... Boards? Chip is like a moth to a flame one day he HAS to write that book!! Eric
Chris Boonzaier Posted May 27, 2013 Author Posted May 27, 2013 I am happy to be able to put a name to this... Lt. d. res hans bierbach, 10th Company, III batln. He was still an NCO in Mid 1917, promoted to Lt. d. Res before October. The seller has more up, I hope to get some of the letters and reports... unfortunately no Photos... Best Chris
Chris Boonzaier Posted May 27, 2013 Author Posted May 27, 2013 Just saw a photo of him pre officer was sold a week before by the same seller.... I will try and get it to add to the boards....
Chip Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 There was also a subdued (Feldachselstück) M15, which I would have bid on had I not already had one. I was perplexed by the other board, which had green darts on a bright board with green underlay. There were no Saxon battalions in the 3.Jäger Rgt., so all I can figure is that this Prussian guy decided that he wanted the darts to be green like the underlay. Anyway, I did not bid as I didn't know what I was looking at. Chip
The Prussian Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 Hi Chip! I´ve seen the green darted one too. I assume, it´s saxon police in the Weimar era
Chip Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Hi Andreas, I thought something similar, but it was odd that it was offered in the same lot of the items from the 3er Jäger. Perhaps a collector added it to the grouping at some point, thinking it was 3er Jäger. Chip
The Prussian Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Hi Chip! I have seen the offer at ebay. I showed it my friends, when we met in the restaurant (where we meet each two months). All of them said, it might be a saxon copper board
Deruelle Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 Nice story and nice items too. congrats Chris Christophe
