Chris Boonzaier Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 I have a weakness for the work of Siegmund von Suchodolski.... http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siegmund_von_Suchodolski
Chris Boonzaier Posted June 9, 2013 Author Posted June 9, 2013 A commercial artist who did not serve in the war, his designs were used by the printers Reichhold and Lang in münchen to make award documents.....
Chris Boonzaier Posted June 10, 2013 Author Posted June 10, 2013 The Printers had Blanks of certain docs that could be used for free text as well. Certain of these Blanks (originals) have been used (IMHO) to fake documents....
Chris Boonzaier Posted June 11, 2013 Author Posted June 11, 2013 I just recieveed this one today... was expensive, but worth it :-)
Chris Boonzaier Posted July 31, 2013 Author Posted July 31, 2013 Although it had been agreed that the fake doc would be destroyed... it is now back in circulation.... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RARE-ORIGINAL-WW-I-GERMAN-MACHINE-GUNNERS-EK-CITATION-AND-MILITARPASS-GROUPING-/390634043738?pt=UK_Collectables_Militaria_LE&hash=item5af39a795a
peter monahan Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Chris That's unfortunate! To be diplomatic. Missed the first appearance but can I assume that the seller agreed to pull it when it was IDed as a possible bad'un?

I have contacted him to inform him it is bad. Best Chris
taube Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 A bit off topic but by the same artist. A flea market find of last year. It is an oroginal sketch of Suchodolski, hand painted with tempera colours. The design was never printed or commercially used from what I know. The signature is clearly Suchodolski´s.
juju1418 Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 woaw I had never seen these other cards it's really an incredible series Julien Mine :
Chris Boonzaier Posted January 30, 2021 Author Posted January 30, 2021 Ha! Coincidence... I just bought the same one!
juju1418 Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 Sincerely I do not know where you find all this. I do not even see them go on sale. This is one of the most expensive that I paid (around forty euros) and I found it by pure luck at the bottom of Delcampe because as this series has no title the seller did not really know what that it was he just called it a German soldier or something. At this rate it will take me 30 years to bring the series together (even if I have the time) before I hesitated when I saw a card on the sturmtruppen but now at less than 40-50 euros I buy without asking myself any questions because the turn of the classic is quickly done but the rarer cards are really difficult to have and go quickly.
Chris Boonzaier Posted January 30, 2021 Author Posted January 30, 2021 I was lucky with mine, it popped up on ebay at a reasonable price, so i jumped on it...
juju1418 Posted February 19, 2022 Posted February 19, 2022 (edited) One year later I have two more in the series (one already posted and an other) : Edited February 19, 2022 by juju1418
