Dolf
This is fascinating, Dolf. Thanks for adding this. There do seem to be three early holes in Battushig's presentation of the deputy badges (pp. 74-75):State Great Assembly (1924-44)State Lower Assembly (1944-51)People's Great Assembly (1951-60)Looks like this image may be the first of these, but this is only guesswork. Any idea on the reverse? Numbering?Cross reference: the thread on deputy badges http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=5294Ed,The info I have is that this was the Upper Chamber of the Parliament. Will try to get more info, including if a number on the reverse.Dolf
Dolf
Multiple choice question: Is this a "NIB" or a "mule"?a) This is a "NIB" a variety of The Outstanding Construction Worker (B #N05).b) This is an unholy marriage of The Outstanding Construction Worker (B #N05) and something else (maybe X01/X02?).Your answer??Ed,I definetely opt for answer B.The Badge itself is a N 05, with a suspension of a X 01.Notice that there are differences between the suspension of X 01 and X 02, X 01 being screwback and enameled, and X 02 being pinback with what seems to be paint. This last one is also bigger than the one on X 01.Well, at least that's what I have on my own samples.Dolf
Vatjan
I think it's an Outstanding Construction

Ed_Haynes
Tentative identification as "Outstanding Ploughman", it surely has an "early" feel.
Ed_Haynes
A (another) variant of "The Outstanding Worker of People's Education" (B# R01-R08). How far should we go in assigning manufacturing variations and deviance in enamel color as "variants"? This one is better quality than most and an almost "jewlery-quality" pin. Dolf
This one is very nice, although I have no idea what it is Jan,My guess is that it could be one of those Province Badges, in this case one for the Sukhbaatar Province.Dolf
Ed_Haynes
Jan,My guess is that it could be one of those Province Badges, in this case one for the Sukhbaatar Province.DolfYet, unlike most of the tiny provincial badges, this one is a whopping 50 mm. No way to tell that from my earlier scan, I guess. I don't see that scale at the provincial level. For comparison (against a ready-at-hand companion):
