Vatjan Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Something new. Something?Something similar but not the same.It was sold as an officer's school badge
Ed_Haynes Posted March 9, 2006 Author Posted March 9, 2006 (edited) Three more NIB education badges. What precisely does one learn at the Ghengis Khan Academy? Edited March 9, 2006 by Ed_Haynes
Ed_Haynes Posted March 16, 2006 Author Posted March 16, 2006 A "NIB" for the 30th Anniversary of Khalkhin Gol. A cute little thing, the medal is just 21 mm. The reverse is plain.
Ed_Haynes Posted March 16, 2006 Author Posted March 16, 2006 Two more "academic NIBs". Is there no end to these??
Vatjan Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 Two more "academic NIBs". Is there no end to these??I heard rumours about there being approx. 300 of these
Ed_Haynes Posted March 23, 2006 Author Posted March 23, 2006 19th Conference of the MPRP, variant of B 27
Ed_Haynes Posted March 23, 2006 Author Posted March 23, 2006 (edited) Friendly NIBsWould guess the first is for the 40th anniversary of the Soviet-Mongolian Friendship Society.Others . . . ??? Edited March 23, 2006 by Ed_Haynes
Ed_Haynes Posted March 23, 2006 Author Posted March 23, 2006 (edited) Another Dornod NIBFor ploughing some something similar? Edited March 23, 2006 by Ed_Haynes
Ed_Haynes Posted March 23, 2006 Author Posted March 23, 2006 Zavkhan and Selenge NIBsWould guess the first is for the 60th anniversary of the Zavkhan province.
Ed_Haynes Posted March 23, 2006 Author Posted March 23, 2006 (edited) MRYL NIBsTwo NIBs from the Mongolian Revolutionary Youth League.Would guess the first is for the 18th meeting/conclave/jamboree of the MYRL. And, yes, it is as large as it looks, some 63 x 40 mm.Would guess the second is for the 60th anniversary of the MYRL, 1981. Edited March 23, 2006 by Ed_Haynes
Ed_Haynes Posted March 23, 2006 Author Posted March 23, 2006 Keep on truckin' (and bussin') NIBsI would guess the first two are linked to the 60th anniversary of road transport, while the third might be linked to the 30th anniversary of bus transport. This is, of course, no more than uninformed guesswork!
Ed_Haynes Posted March 23, 2006 Author Posted March 23, 2006 Some more proncial NIBsThe first, from Umnugobi, seems a later and a MUCH lower quality version of the badge discussed above at http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=5914&st=39 .The second seems to be a 60th anniversary badge for Tuv province. The third one appears to be some sort of anniversary badge from Arkhangai.
Dolf Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 Apparently a Khalkhin Gol Friendship Badge.Posted on another thread but after all it also belongs here as it seems to be another NIB.Dolf
Gerd Becker Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 This is obviously a "NIB" as Battushig only shows one of this Medals where the enameled Ribbon-suspender has three rivets on the reverse. There is a Honorary Labor Medal listed in this style, but no Medal of Combat exactly like this.I guess, its a common variation, but its not listed in the Battushig-book.
Dolf Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 Gerd,There are plenty of variations of this Medal. I have five, 2 screwback and 3 pinback, all slightely different, and I don't have all variations! This one is one of the variations I have.Jan did a nice work, cataloguing types and variations, in another Forum, but I guess it would need to be updated by now. It should be somewhere in this Forum too I guess.Dolf
Ed_Haynes Posted March 31, 2006 Author Posted March 31, 2006 Encouraged by this, see: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=6999
