paul wood Posted July 24, 2013 Share Posted July 24, 2013 There are numerous varieties of ensigns badges, as to hallmarks, is it definitely silver or is it silvered metal, quite frequently found on late Imperial badges and therefore not hallmarked. Such badges were made in silver (marked), silver (unmarked) and bronze. This one was made before 1917 and certainly before provisional government times (crowns ). The real question to what praporshchik school this badge belong to ... The key for identification is this shield ... Nikolayevskoe (very unlikely ...)? Go figure... Another scenario H II stands for Nicholas II. But why then such strange form of H and not a standart monogram of Nicholas II?
