Gordon Williamson
Oberleutnant zur See. A few junior commanders at this grade, specially later in the war, but in the "hey-days" of the U-Boats, this grade would most likely be the IWO, First Watch Officer, probably a future commander in training. Guest Rick Research
Laurence-- post #48 = Korvettenkapit?n (W) in the "Artilleriewesen" since there were also (W) officers in the "Sperrwesen" with a floating mine device. Here are my Korvettenkapit?n (V) administrative boards, also the type probably worn on a pre-war frock coat. My later Konteradmiral (V) B?ning made this rank in 1937 as Chief Administrative Officer, Submarines.[attachmentid=9457]And a bit of a statistical sample on these two obscure specialist Corps. /NA = Not Applicable (there weren't any) and the / (E)= Erg?nzungs = retread officers called back up in the mid 1930s. They were worked into the regulars during the war.Administrative Korvettenkapit?n level officers1931 = 2/NA1936 = 25/ 8 (V-E)1937 = 25/ 12 (V-E)1944 = 89/ NAArtilleriewesen Korvettenkapit?ns1931 = NA (! they were "Beamten" then)1936 = 13/ 01937 = 24/ 1 (W-E)1944 = 20/ NA
