bmsm Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 What (who) is this cuff title for? Is it real or a reproduction? It is 15-1/2 in long and 1-1/4 in. wideThank you in advance.Bob
peter monahan Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 BobI have never collected Third Reich but I do know that 30 years ago, when I had the money to collect anything, cuff titles were already a minefiled for the unwary and I also know that the percentage of fake TR stuff has skyrocketed, along with the expertise of the forgers, in the intervening years. I'd suggest you re-post your query in the Third Reich uniform and equipment forum further up the page, where the experts may more easily find it and give you informed opinions. Good, luck!Peter
bmsm Posted March 14, 2015 Author Posted March 14, 2015 I had posted this cuff title in a different forum and it was suggested to me to post it here to maybe get more answers. What or who is this cuff title for? Is it real or a reproduction? It is 15-1/2 in. long and 1-1/4 in. wide. Thank you in advance.Bob
Paul R Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 (edited) This is a cuff title for Rommel's Afrika Korps. I have never seen one hand embroidered like that before. Definitely very interesting. I can tell you that I have not seen a reproduction like that either. Perhaps a theater made example? Edited March 15, 2015 by Paul R
bmsm Posted March 15, 2015 Author Posted March 15, 2015 Paul, Thank you for your information. I have seen the brown Afrika Cuff tiles but not a green one. The lettering and palm trees have the silver bullion thread. This one is faded and looks like it had been sewn on at one time.Bob
