First Tank Destruction Badge

I want to share with you all my first Tank Destruction Badge in Black.  This will be the first of two I need for my relative's display.  I hope that you all like it. It looks to be a textbook example to me.

I think you're right, Paul... an original in silver in very nice condition.

What unit was the relative in?

He was in a few.  He received the two at the same time in April of 1945 while he was assigned to the 416th IR.  I am trying to find out more about the unit.  All I've been able to find on the Lexicon is that it was established in late 1944.

He was at many different units over his 16 year career.
