Jock Auld Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 Guys, This was also with the scrap. You can see where the liner holes are still visible. The damage to the enamel is where someone tossed it in the scrap.
Trooper_D Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 Well if swords can be turned into ploughshares, why not? Have you come across many of these, Jock?
Trooper_D Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 (edited) Fascinating film, Spasm. Interesting that, as early as 1946, there was such a pressing (sorry!) need that it was worth creating machine tools specifically to convert helmets into cullenders. Edited September 3, 2016 by Trooper_D
Jock Auld Posted September 4, 2016 Author Posted September 4, 2016 Thanks for the film link. They have always been good at recyling.
Alex K Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 They have their post-war uses!, came across this on a vacation to Kefalonia, Itallian? Alex K

peter monahan Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 Mind, putting the handles on would make it easiert to re-fit a chin strap if necessary.
