KC13 Posted November 24, 2017 Posted November 24, 2017 (edited) Hello, would anyone have access to clear photos of the various military officers showing their medals? From what I have seen so far, it almost seems that order of precedence tends to be up to the individual. Edited November 24, 2017 by KC13
peter monahan Posted November 25, 2017 Posted November 25, 2017 Presumably decided by whoever did the mounting, in the abscence of any official guidelines.
KC13 Posted November 25, 2017 Author Posted November 25, 2017 It sure looks that way. No two are alike in videos I have seen.
Chris Boonzaier Posted November 26, 2017 Posted November 26, 2017 I was surprised to see the ZIM army wears a version of the Rhodesian Cammo, I had always thought that they had banned that from the country...

Strangely enough the cammo is not old stock... apparently the new has the drown printed over the green, the old had the green printed over the brown... or the other way around... or something like that....
mickey Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 rhodesian stocks of camoflage uniforms were worn by the zimbabwe army until 83/84 then replaced by a new design featuring green and brown vertical stripes on a khaki background for the dry season and a pale green background for the wet season in the 1990s zimbabwe reintroduced the rhodesian brushstroke pattern but with brown printed over green as chris correctly noted as a collector of bush war items i have never seen the vertical stripe pattern for sale it may well be in storage or destroyed i have heard some references call it the monkey hand pattern
peter monahan Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 Thanks, Mickey. Clearly a complex field. I meant only that I wouldn't be surprised if the camo they wore were printed by the same company [South African] or in the same pattern as the older 'bad' stuff, if that was the cheapest available.
NPGilbert Posted November 30, 2017 Posted November 30, 2017 The camo's are manufactured in China these days.
taras Posted December 30, 2017 Posted December 30, 2017 I found this picture a couple of years ago somewhere on the net
Megan Posted January 7, 2018 Posted January 7, 2018 You rang? Looks like the badge appendant from the chain Mnangagwe is wearing, which is the collar of the Zimbabwe Order of Merit - they use it as the President's badge of office. Red star, green wreath, gold centre motif; above is the arms of Zimbabwe: -
peter monahan Posted January 8, 2018 Posted January 8, 2018 Cheers, Megan.. I knew you'd know. And Happy New Year.
