14-15 Star naming problem?

I picked this up recently. I do not see any traces of an old name having been removed or it having been sanded on the back, but there is a possibility that the naming is not original?

Hi, indeed, but I have been googling and both ways with the rank seem to have been used, with the line and without it.

To me the only cause for concern would be that the lettering looks a little large compared to other Stars I have had. The font and layout appear fine and as you say I have seen 'Private' represented in both styles.

A very desirable medal bearing in mind the Unit and the fact that he was KIA with the Royal Dublin Fusiliers.

It looks ok to me.

I'll scan some details from a book later and send them on. That should help you determine which style of naming it actually is although you might need a ruler to be absolutely sure.
