Ian Posted December 20, 2017 Posted December 20, 2017 I have had these two badges in my collection for sometime and I thought I would take the opportunity to share the photos, and ask if anyone else has similar badges in their collections? I would be particularly interested in any photographic evidence of these types of badges in wear. Photo 1 is a silver coloured telegraph line supervisor for the k.u.k. military post in Bosnia-Herzegovina oval badge and measures approx. 5cm in diameter. Photo 2 is of a silver coloured oval badge for the k.u.k. Railway post telegraph and telephone supervisor and is 5cm in diameter. Regards, Ian
Farkas Posted October 24, 2018 Posted October 24, 2018 Hi Ian just spotted this thread.... i have a few photos, I will keep an eye out for anything similar. Where would these have been worn? 5cm is a fair old size..... tony
Ian Posted October 24, 2018 Author Posted October 24, 2018 Hi Tony, I have no idea where they were worn, but I suspect maybe on a breast pocket. They are of a large size so I guess that would rule out either on a cross strap or a hat . Regards, Ian

Ian Posted October 25, 2018 Author Posted October 25, 2018 Tony, The regular Heer/Landwehr/Honvéd qualification badges were about 3.4 to 3.5 cm in size. The photo of the Bosnian musicians is pretty cool.
Farkas Posted November 1, 2018 Posted November 1, 2018 Hi Ian something similar in wear.... collar badges too cheers tony
Ian Posted November 2, 2018 Author Posted November 2, 2018 Hi Tony, Similar, but different. The regular Heer/Landwehr/Honvéd qualification badges were about 3.4 to 3.5 cm in size, and bronze in colour. That makes then about 1-5cm smaller than the two I posted earlier. Regards, Ian
Bayern Posted November 2, 2018 Posted November 2, 2018 Hello Ian ,Perhaps your badges were not carried on the uniform .Postmen and other employees usually carried a leather made wallet or pouch ,to put into the letters and telegrams. perhaps your badges were affixed to the lid of these items.
Ian Posted November 3, 2018 Author Posted November 3, 2018 I have no idea, but your suggestion has very real merit.
