Biber
Hi folks,Does anybody know anything about this cross? my brother gave it to me when I was about 12. It was stuffed in a frame and labeled as an iron cross that was affixed to coffins. It's fairly light gray metal (color of lead) with black paint. There is evidence that there was once a ring on the 12 o'clock arm. Please forgive the picture quality. Thanks Biber[attachmentid=34326][attachmentid=34327][attachmentid=34328]

Stogieman
Hi Biber, I'm thinking that it's just a very crude copy of an EK2. I think every single patriotic piece I have seen pre-1918 was way beyond this in quality and materials. I cannot imagine a German would 'cut corners" at funeral time....... Oh well it was a shotB
gregM
It reminds me of some of the old "Surfer" stuff from the '60s.
coastie
It reminds me of some of the old "Surfer" stuff from the '60s.That's exactly what it is. I bought one of these at a state fair in 1967 (still have it). These are still sold on ebay with black, red, blue or yellow cores.

Guest Rick Research
The two "big sellers" to motorcycle gangs in the 1960s that I recall (as a kiddo, not a member) were Souval enamelled fakes ofFire Department Long Service Crosses (flaming swastika) and MOTHERS' Crosses.Kitsch knoweth no recognition.
