Beau Newman Posted November 19, 2018 Posted November 19, 2018 I just received this in the mail. I liked it because the combination is a bit unusual. I can't come up with any obvious Oldenburg/Saxe-Weimar connections unless it was a Saxe-Weimar native in the Navy. I also thought that the fact that the Saxe-Weimar isn't on a swords suspension and has no sign that it ever was is also unusual. Any thoughts?
ixhs Posted November 19, 2018 Posted November 19, 2018 (edited) I like the bar. Some kind of unusual combination - made in the 1930/40. May be a Blockwart in the NSDAP or another party member. The Vor dem Feinde clasp magnetic or not? The Oldenburger (= northern Germany) often shows -imo- a Navy or Luftwaffe guy. Edited November 19, 2018 by ixhs
VtwinVince Posted November 19, 2018 Posted November 19, 2018 D'oh, you outbid me. The Sachsen VM was loose, but an easy repair. I also like the combo.
Beau Newman Posted November 19, 2018 Author Posted November 19, 2018 The FA is magnetic, the bar is not but, the details are very good.
ixhs Posted November 20, 2018 Posted November 20, 2018 An Oldenburg collecter said to me, that the non magnetic pieces were made pre war 1920/30... The bar is imo a good original piece.
