heusy68 Posted March 10, 2020 Posted March 10, 2020 (edited) Hello Gentlemen, Having recently been to Sri Lanka, I was able to get this group. Yes, it seems that nowadays in Sri Lanka, they mount medals group opposite ways. The 1st Medal (from left) is Armed & Police Service Military Decoration ( Purna Bhumi Padakkama) this medal has been instituted in 1977, Police Meritorious Service Medal (Sri Lanka Police Vishishta Seva Padakkama), Police LSGC Medal ( Sri Lanka Police Deergha Sewa Padakkama), Police 125th Anniversary, Sri Lanka 50th Anniversary of Independence Police Issue, Police 150th Anniversary, St John Medal (now consider as a First Aid Medal, in a general sense). Regards to all. Emmanuel Edited March 10, 2020 by heusy68

peter monahan Posted March 14, 2020 Posted March 14, 2020 That is a really lovely group. Interesting mounting too - the overlap is the opposite of what is common practice for most Commonwealth countries.

The SL Army, Navy and Airforce still continue to mount their medals the 'normal' way.
