You need Michel on this one. I have only ever owned one unquestionably original example of this type of cap (original officer issue - as opposed to upgraded enlisted- KM Bordm?tzen are exceptionally rare) and this had the join in the gold piping to the side, not at the centre rear. I believe this side jointing of the piping is typical on original pieces. Mine did not have a sweatband.

Hello Floris,

As Gordon say the gold piping join are to the side not at the centre rear, the eagle is not one for officer, I have never seen a officer KM bordm?tze with a sweatband and the general making is not very pleasant.

Definitively not a regular KM officer side cap.

Indeed the yellow eagle isn't an officer's eagle and the sweatband is not standard,

I have read in "Die Kriegsmarine" from Angolia that such caps excist.

Thanks for the advice (again!), I didn't buy it.
