Gordon Williamson
You need Michel on this one. I have only ever owned one unquestionably original example of this type of cap (original officer issue - as opposed to upgraded enlisted- KM Bordm?tzen are exceptionally rare) and this had the join in the gold piping to the side, not at the centre rear. I believe this side jointing of the piping is typical on original pieces. Mine did not have a sweatband.
Michel
Hello Floris,As Gordon say the gold piping join are to the side not at the centre rear, the eagle is not one for officer, I have never seen a officer KM bordm?tze with a sweatband and the general making is not very pleasant.Definitively not a regular KM officer side cap.Regards,Michel
reinoudmilitary
Thank you Michel and Gordon,Indeed the yellow eagle isn't an officer's eagle and the sweatband is not standard,I have read in "Die Kriegsmarine" from Angolia that such caps excist. Thanks for the advice (again!), I didn't buy it.
