    If gold or silver gilt, metal fineness marks would appear, usually on large wreath ribbon ties at bottom of badge or on badge suspension lug or ribbon ring.  Same locations for maker marks.    

    Lack of marks & wear to badge suggests bronze-gilt example to me.

    j'm ok with 922F, the gold model are more finely made and have a gold spécifics hallmarks

    In my opinion that this one is brass model -4th Republic

    Very robust even to be silver gilded I might be wrong

    I agree with 992F

    Lack of clear marks and in my opinion lack of good quality, suggests bronze gild.

     

    Here is another example of good quality silver gild with well placed mark for silver -'boar head"
