GODISHIGH Posted January 14, 2021 Posted January 14, 2021 Hello, why would this piece have different type of enamel? Most i've seen have a translucent emamel but this one is opaque. Also the enamel is on both sides of this one. Most have enamel on only one side Was this one damaged and repaired? Thanks John
922F Posted January 14, 2021 Posted January 14, 2021 Note ball for ribbon ring. Most likely not Russian manufacture. Any hallmark, possibly under ball at top of cross obverse? Appears to be a French copy, possibly 1918-20's. 1
JapanX Posted January 14, 2021 Posted January 14, 2021 Yes, looks like a French work. Not that good quality either. 12 minutes ago, 922F said: Any hallmark, possibly under ball at top of cross obverse? Looks like a boar's head silver mark
paul wood Posted January 14, 2021 Posted January 14, 2021 Silver gilt french made circa 1917-20. Quite a few turn up in Brtish groups where the award was gazetted but due to regime change was never awarded. p
