Deutschritter
Does anyone have the promotion dates for Kurt Gotthelf Kreuzwendedich von dem Borne? I saw this site (http://prussianmachine.com/aka/borne.htm), but it has to be wrong, he surely did not become Sekondeleutnant (19 May 1873) on his 16th birthday (maybe his older brother Hermann Gotthelf Kreuzwendedich von dem Borne?). What is Kurt (see picture) wearing below the EK I? Is that maybe the War Merit Cross (Lippe), 1st class? Thank you! Glenn J
Andreas, his original Patent as a Seconde-Lieutenant was 23 April 1874. When he was transferred to Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 21 on 29 April 1879, he was granted an improved Patent of 19 May 1873. He was originally commissioned directly into Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 83 from the Kadettenkorps. Regards Glenn
