What could be the reason for the Cross of Military Merit to be delivered with an alternative red/black ribbon ( similar to the one on the Commander of the Armed Forces Gold Cross )?

I think this is a version of the medal, the ribbon is most likely from another award.

But there is no explanation about use of these ribbons on modern Cross of Military Merit use.
