eBay Fakes

I posted these on SDA for opinions, and the consensus is that these are the new generation of fakes currently being produced in Belgium.

Yes, these are not run of the mill junk, look at the quality of construction. I find this a worrying trend.

More like the other way around. 

Maybe the bar is geniue, maybe not, but the medals are definitly are all fake, expect the FEK.

The bar could be fake aswell, good one though.

Well, this doesn’t look anything like the original examples I’ve seen and handled from a friend’s collection but somebody dropped $3,400 on it! Opinions?

There was but I didn’t save it as it wasn’t very clear, I agree, looks silver

Can you make out what it says? That pin looks vaguely Zimmermann-ish. And the enamel looks unusual. Where are the Bavaria specialists, Lorin?

The photo is sadly of very poor quality.  I believe that I read "950" (incuse) and "J L" (incuse) on the reverse.  The 950 mark is for 950/1000 silver and the J L mark is for Jacob Leser (Straubing).

Good Morning All, thanks for the input. So, it seems to actually be legitimate, how about the bid? $3400 seems very high for this piece to me? I know it’s scarce but that seems more in line for a gold one?

Yet another fake Prussian Observer Badge in a fake case from our Usual Suspect. $577. I really have to wonder what on earth people think, this seller has a never ending supply of flight badges and PLMs but people keep snapping them up!!

Again, the usual suspect, the bottomless pit of fakes, people just snap them up! This one enhanced with fake engraving, $386

One would think with these fake sets popping up on a weekly basis that the buyers would smarten up, but no, this one brought $615

These caught my eye today, another dangerous product from our Belgian friends (the Saxon) and a really awful Feldschnalle.
