Stogieman Posted June 9 Author Posted June 9 In Germany, cased KO3, looks very minty, sold for 407-Euro
VtwinVince Posted June 9 Posted June 9 I like the Trapetz, but the KO3 is a fake, although the case looks real.
VtwinVince Posted June 10 Posted June 10 It was discussed at SDA, and there were multiple things wrong with it, starting with the shape of the cross arms.
Bernd_W Posted June 10 Posted June 10 Lot of bogus beef at the SDA, when the club there hates the seller they will talk a piece down. Not judging this piece, just in general I would recommend to rely on your own opinion.
VtwinVince Posted June 11 Posted June 11 I agree Bernd, I've had my share of run-ins with the establishment over there. 1
Stogieman Posted June 11 Author Posted June 11 Unfortunately, the Albert Order has been extensively faked and I’m not 100% sure but this cross looks pretty darn good. Sold as Commander/Grosskreuz. Didn’t see weights or dimensions in the listing. Marked for Scharffenburg. 1212- Euro
VtwinVince Posted June 11 Posted June 11 I agree that that one looks good Rick, but some of the fakes of exactly this order are extremely good, there's a thread at SDA about these.
Stogieman Posted June 12 Author Posted June 12 Ok, maybe this actually belongs in the eBay Mania Thread….. Hohenzollern RKmS at 1719-Euro!! And no photo of the reverse posted!
Stogieman Posted June 12 Author Posted June 12 Interesting Wurttemburg Medal Bar/Ribbon Bar, 304-Euro
VtwinVince Posted June 12 Posted June 12 Too bad about that bar, looks like there might have been a GMMM on there. And who knows about that HOH, fake bids or insanity?
Stogieman Posted June 13 Author Posted June 13 Another nice little bar with a scarce device, 256 Euro 1
Bernd_W Posted June 13 Posted June 13 With the missing backside, could it be a HOH commander cross? Any dimensions mentioned?
Stogieman Posted June 13 Author Posted June 13 Hi Bernd, Good Morning! The original listing had only a photo of the obverse and no dimensions posted. They had quite a few nice, original medals and bars, all went for pretty reasonable prices except the Hohenzollern. I suppose it’s possible that it was a Commander’s Cross and some of the bidders reached out to the seller for clarification and additional details. It went from about 700- to 1700- in the final minute of the auction!! I don’t know how to differentiate the two from just the one picture.
Stogieman Posted June 13 Author Posted June 13 The seller of the Wurttemburg bar missing a medal also sold this for 63- Euro. Again, only one picture. Never seen this medal cased before.
Stogieman Posted June 14 Author Posted June 14 And then there was this little beauty! Asking 1850-Euro, no bidders
