Mondvor Posted November 3 Posted November 3 Dear fellow collectors and military history enthusiasts, For several years I am trying to create a database of the recipients of XX years of RKKA medal. This award is very unique not only because it was the very first Soviet medal established, but also because relatively low number of recipients - little over 37.000. Many of them were killed during WWII, some of them were eliminated by Stalin's repressions and good number of them made it to the highest military ranks - Generals and Marshals. Up to this moment I have around 19200 names of the recipients with corresponding medal numbers. I have big database of documents including app 1150 images of medal books and over a thousand of Award Cards with numbers. Most of the images from Russian content internet are already in my database. However few hundreds documents were sold in Western market and I only have a couple of dozens of their images. If you guys have in your possession any images of this medal documents, I would greatly appreciate if you can share them with me by displaying them in this topic or by emailing them to me. I would like to post some of the images of this amazing document and hope you will add more. Thanks in advance. 2

Two of those I have had in my database before, but they were made in different time, here they are. However image of female's document is a real treasure! Congratulations on having this gem in your collection! On 05/11/2024 at 13:54, Alfred said: How rare are documents to female recipants? Andreas Actually, documents to female recipients are very rare. The number of female recipients is small, less than a hundred were awarded to ladies. And only about a dozen documents I have seen so far. One of them I showed in the first post (number 40). Here is another female document. 3

Very interesting piece of history. According to Soviet archives Major Filippov was a head of separate NKVD borderguard unit of the South-Western front and he was lost in action in 1942. Most likely was killed and his awards got in possession of German officer. 1
Alfred Posted November 7 Posted November 7 Here is the history of the borderguard unit. https://coollib.com/b/478377-aleksandr-ilich-fuki-byil-stavshaya-legendoy-otdelnaya-kolomyiyskaya-pogranichnaya-komendatura-v-boy__/read I have bought this from a german person, who said a relative brought this from the war back. Sadely the little suspension was missing, only the screrwplate with number and the big large suspension was in the group (see picture).
