seb16trs Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Were the Order of Lenin's awarded to foreigners? Possibly "modified" to suite the "normal" suspensions of the awardee?hello, it looks like a polish suspension and ribon device...POland is logicaly the closest country to USSR to use such ribons
Guest Darrell Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 hello, it looks like a polish suspension and ribon device...POland is logicaly the closest country to USSR to use such ribonsWhat about the case? It would be nice to see the outer cover. Maybe some clues there as well.
Stogieman Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 OK, I can accept Poland... just noticed the case is actually hinged on the left. That's NOT typical of German cases, post 1945.., or of that style of case. Has anyone ever seen a box for a Lenin that comes close to this? Maybe ask him for a photo of the lid?
Guest Darrell Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Maybe ask him for a photo of the lid?If you get pics, please get some good closeups of the front and reverse of the medal. Maybe a mute point if the order is NFG.
Riley1965 Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 (edited) I have never seen a Polish presentation case open from the side.A pic of the top of the case would tell a lot!!! Doc Edited June 28, 2006 by Riley1965

Guest Rick Research Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 That serial number falls right smack in the 20 April 1953 mass Ukaz for SOVIET long service awards.
Stogieman Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 Hi Dolf, did you think the bidder was this fellow? ;>)http://cgi3.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?View...wwcollectrussia
