    Dear forumites,

    I'd like to introduce to you a well documented group of a brave German WWI junior officier and observer in the airforce, veteran of the Middle Eastern front, fighting with the Ottoman allies and later a Staff LW officer on the Russian front.

    We begin with his "Geburtsurkunde" (Certificate of Birth).

    His commission as "Leutnant", dated 20.08.1909, Officer of the Foot Artillery...

    Details of the Beförderungsurkunde... His unit during peace times was the 2. Westpreußisches Fußartillerie-Regt. Nr.17.

    Back of the ribbon bar... typical Godet Grey fabric on the reverse without any needle system, to be sewn directly to the uniform.

    Oberstleutnant Falke owned for sure different ribbon bars... on this picture he's portrayed with one row ribbon bar.
