Tsend Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Thirteen Mongolian soldiers were awarded the Order of Glory 3rd Class for their feats in the war against Japan from August - September 1945. Out of 13 soldiers awarded the Order of Glory, 3rd Class, two were bestowed the title of Hero of the Mongolian People's Republic. Below is the information on one of the thirteen recipients of the Order of Glory, 3rd Class -Private Baljidyn Yondon. He was awarded the Order of the Glory, 3rd Class with serial number 555807 by the Decree of the Supreme Soviet of USSR in July 1946. AWARD LIST Last Name, Name, and Patronymic: Baljidyn Yondon Rank: Private Position, Unit: Gunner (наводчик) of 76 mm artillery unit Is recommended for the Order of Glory 3rd Class 1. Year and Place of Birth: 1920; Sarhat county of Southgobi province 2. Nationality: Mongol Khalkha 3. In the Mongolian Revolutionary Army Since: 1943 4. Party Membership: No 5. Participation in Battles (where and when): No 6. Wounds or Contusions Received: Doesn't have 7. Previous award: No 8. Drafted by what district military commissar: Southgobi aimag 9. Permanent home address (or the prospective awardee or his/her family): Hanha nuur county, Southgobi aimag Brief Description of Personal Feat or Merits During the combat on August 19, he personally destroyed one Anti-tank unit and one machine gun fortified nest with his artillery gun, thereby contributed to the advancement of the units. Tsend Posted July 5, 2012 Author Posted July 5, 2012 Excerpt from the archival document showing the exact serial number of the order and the name who the order was handed. It says "Order of the Glory, 3rd Class with serial number 555807. Handed to Private Baljidyn Yondon on September 13, 1946. Serial number of the Order Certificate is 895403". Private Yondon received his order almost a year after the recommendation.
