Gerd Becker Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 Hello gentlemen,i have posted some pics of this group on another thread already, but i didn?t want to flood that thread with too much irrelevant pictures and there is much more in this group than shown over there.Ok, here again the awards:
Gerd Becker Posted March 15, 2006 Author Posted March 15, 2006 I will start with the Military ID, as its probably the most interesting document in this group beside the one for the Chinese Medal.Page one and two:
Gerd Becker Posted March 15, 2006 Author Posted March 15, 2006 I will skip the not filled parts of this IDPage three and four:
Gerd Becker Posted March 15, 2006 Author Posted March 15, 2006 Page five and six are empty.Page seven and eight:
Gerd Becker Posted March 15, 2006 Author Posted March 15, 2006 There was another document inside the ID with filled pages:
Gerd Becker Posted March 15, 2006 Author Posted March 15, 2006 His Victory over Germany-Document and a closeup:
Gerd Becker Posted March 15, 2006 Author Posted March 15, 2006 and finally (phew!) pages of his documents for the Military Merit Medals:Thanks for looking.
Gerd Becker Posted March 15, 2006 Author Posted March 15, 2006 Actually the Soviet Chinese Friendship Medals is (although the "ugly" type) much nicer, than expected

Gerd Becker Posted March 15, 2006 Author Posted March 15, 2006 (edited) Thanks, Rick. You are the greatest. I will try to get the research for this group. Sounds very mysterious so far. GerdPS: Thanks, Darrel! Edited March 15, 2006 by Gerd Becker
Guest Rick Research Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 While I was typing my last, you added posts 10 on-- a bit clearer! Still much to go back and forth, back and forth comparing...March 1947 on he was apparently in charge of a battery (accumulator) in some (pardon the electrical pun) capacity. "Battery operator" just sounds weird. From January 1949 his job was as (TADAAAAAAH!!!)Radio Detection Finderand what I was interpreting above as "Construction" is apparently actually the abbreviation of some form of ANTI-AIRCRAFT ARTILLERY.Married to Valentina Ivanovna, sons Baklatan born 1953 and Altai born 1956.Victory Over Germany as Private, 922 Inf Rgt, "Boris Zhul'mukanov" on 28 January 1946 and yet 3 days earlierCapture of Berlin, same rank and unit but name written as "Boris Zhalmulkanov."K?nigsberg as Junior Sergeant in "Unit 40102" 21.9.50 spelled "Boris Zhelmukanov."The poor huy never got his name the same way twice!!!!!First MMM in May 1945 (so researchable) and Medals Book issued 26.10.46Light INDUSTRIAL technician training 1966.The inserted "duplicate" form also repeats the fiction that he was discharged and "re-enlisted" in the Soviet Army while away from home. The unit abbreviations and WEIRD job functions are giving me trouble.
Gerd Becker Posted March 15, 2006 Author Posted March 15, 2006 Thanks again. Its getting clearer. Take your time with the rest.
Alfred Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 Nice group Gerd, still the money worth you paid. regardsAndreas
