Christophe Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 Interesting to notice that the two suspensions are not exactly the same (see the reverse)... We have to check this... Cheers.Ch.
Guest Darrell Posted April 4, 2006 Posted April 4, 2006 Thanks guys. What's next? Getting only the REAL expensive ones left
Ed_Haynes Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 A lovely-lovely and one of my favorites.Here is a documented example, variety 1, 11014.
Ed_Haynes Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 And, to present it here too, my "problem-child" "group". I think of it as a set of singles stuck together. (The price was low anyway.)Type 2, 69482See also: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=2456
Guest Darrell Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 Very nice Ed ... I have my award booklet for the Variation 1 above on another thread, but I'll repost here to keep things together ...1.
Guest Darrell Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 Also came with it's red presentation box (posted elsewhere, but won't here). My Order Booklet is named to Dzmanashvily, David Vasilievitch, awarded on April 8, 1971.Ed notice that your person is awarded the same day? Must have been a mass award of these on this date?
Ed_Haynes Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 Ed notice that your person is awarded the same day? Must have been a mass award of these on this date?Yes, very interesting. As always, we need to know more and more and more and . . . .
Guest Rick Research Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 I don't have the sheer NUMBERS to be statistically significant, but there SEEMS to have been a PARALLEL bestowal of these in 1971/72, with"Group X" in the 1X,XXX-2X,XXX serial number range while simultaneously and seemingly out of numerical order"Group Y" was in the 4X,XXX serial number range.I have no explanation for this seeming anomaly. I don't SEE such a divergence in numbers being handed out at the same time later on, but then I simply don't have enough of a documented serial number range on these. This is a "Polar Star" sort of mystery. SOMEBODY, methinks, shipped out the wrong batch of pre-numbered awards, and they got used out of sequence.????
Guest Darrell Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 Thanks Rick. Interesting to say the least. It would be nice to see other ORO booklets to see if there are more on this date
Guest Darrell Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 Very nice everyone ... these are some killer awards
