All look amazing. They are in great condition. I really like the old style plates where the centre of it is almost seperate you could say. Wish they were still like that. I know the Eastern region forces arent any more. Having said that, Herts still had the seperate centre held in by a pin up until fairly recently when I assume costs dictated it was cheaper just to make it all out of one 'sheet' if that makes sense. I can't say I like a spike top or a rose really. In my opinion, I find the comb looks better.

Not horrible by any means, however you can see the difference cant you in terms of becoming more and more cheapo. Ints interesting isnt it because I know Bernard Hogan Howe of the Met was seen on horseback when he was Commissioner and I think in the early 2000s when he served as Assistant Commissioner close to his time of heading Merseyside and he has been seen on horseback many times as well as a couple of Commanders at least. In fact there was some controversy about how much the Met spent on a bicorn spelling? hat for a DAC to wear on horseback some years ago which is on the net somewhere. Thanks for posting, very nice. Shame in some ways very few have mounted branch now and East Anglian forces seek support from the city for mututal aid where horses are required. Don't suppose you have a commissioners cap or any senior officers caps with braiding as would love to see any of those?

What an absolutely amazing looking helmet. I dare say it can't have been much fun to wear, but even so. Out of interest is it padded inside at all or like the old cork liner type ones? What a true one off as you say and consigned to history had it not been for your post so thanks. Also, on the subject of helmets I don't suppose you have a Met inspectors helmet with the two silver bands rather than one black one or any information about this? I've seen photos from 80s Brixton riots with Inspectors wearing them in serials and one as recent being worn a few years ago on Flickr. I would imagine this is newly issued at the time as surely if it was an old one passed on the liner would have disintegrated? Do you also know Dave what forces issued Inspector helmets? I know Met, Northampton chief constable has been pictures in one and Sussex but no others. Thanks.

I really hope this is the case rather than the post above saying people just directly involved!!!!! How reliable do you think your source is? Someone said on here that no contracts have been awarded so regardless of the truth, we will be waiting ages for them! Talk about bearer of bad news!!! How reliable do you think your source is?

I ran that title through google with 'The Sun' next to it and it is apparently from The Sun. I suppose its just how reliable the source is they got it from. As far as I know, theres still been no official announcement so it may well be the truth, just leaked early perhaps. On Google, someone has put in a Freedom of Information Act request asking for the eligibility and the request has been refused by the MOD, unsure why that would be.

https://www.newsletter.co.uk/must-read/the-coronation-of-king-charles-iii-is-not-likely-to-take-place-until-2023-3845878 Hi all If you google something like 2023 coronation medal it does show several results saying that one will be issued, however its still the problem of who will get it and how many. Someone has also put in a FOI request according to google but it has not yet been replied to.

I really hope its the same criteria as the last jubilee medal. Will be miffed if I dont get one, haha. It seems certain now that no Covid medal is forthcoming. Surely if there was one then this would have been announced during the New years honours for those individuals who specifically went above and beyond towards it. it also looks like a general one will not be issued either sadly.

Absolutely dreadful, tragic incident. Great photos, just a shame to see them neglected but I think you did a good deed remembering them with this in the hustle and bustle of modern life. The reality is, very few people would have a clue who these people were. Even current job who arent interested in history would know. Sad really to think that.
