    1. Yes, very nice - ... exactly the kind of bar I was hoping to see here If there are more out there, please post them!
    2. The pictures are very poor. I believe this is a fake. The needle system and the sewing reminds me of other known forgeries
    3. There was a Rauch as well but his first name was Friedrich and he was awarded the civilian KFMVM
    4. I found him: Gefreiter Ludwig Rau (not Rauch) Gefreiter Ludwig Rau served in 11th Companie, 3. Baden Infantry Regiment His name was printed wrong as Ludwig Rauch on page 31 of the Badische Staatsanzeiger from January 1871. On page 201 of the Badische Staatsanzeiger there is the correction of his name as Ludwig Rau (not Rauch).
    5. Beauty! ... is there a name on the back of the K.F. Militärverdienstmedaille?
    6. Thanks Jens, I did not think of that! The boards are very well sewn in - they could have been there for a very long time. The blue seems a darker blue then the Bavarian colour - the underlay is pink and the piping is more bordeaux in colour.
    7. A friend of mine recently aquired this tunic. The Bavarian shoulder boards have been added and are not original to this tunic. There is no tag or name inside. The colour of the piping suggests General Stab or perhaps Dragoner Rgt 11 or 12. Any ideas to what unit the wearer could have belonged to?
    8. Very nice specimen - thanks for sharing
    9. The card is send from the Vogesen, addressed to Mag(i) Aschauer and the writer's name is Lorenz. I think he signs with: "dein Pate Lorenz" Your godfather Lorenz
    10. Very nice photo! ... perhaps if you could get better scans of these details - we have a unit and name http://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_10_2011/post-1062-0-77267400-1318713969.jpghttp://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_10_2011/post-1062-0-06691000-1318714144.jpg

    12. Here is a bar from a Baden Leibgrenadier that fought at the battles of Nuits and Lisaine.
