    1. Pete, Could i use your badge in my upcoming Flak book? Marc
    2. Frank has one on page 176 of the General Assault Badge book. A wartime E-boat badge by S&L marked with the circle. Marc
    3. I have the circle as S&L...as there are wartime pieces marked with the circle. Most notably KM badges. Marc
    4. Doug, I look at militaria like a football draft - you go for the best available player. You can fill needs later. Marc
    5. Do show it off - I think they are way under appreciated.
    6. Gorgeous badges, absolutely top notch! I think the Tombak looks familiar to me??? Fabulous finish to the zinc - I am amazed at the variety of finishes on the flaks. More than I can believe! Marc
    7. Indeed, an unmarked Brehmer.
    8. Gordon, Ha! Had not read far enough - found it. Superb book, I love it! Marc
    9. Gordon, Great book. But I am a bit puzzled. Page 10 states there is a chart on sleeve ranks but I can not find it??? Marc
    10. OK, I found an entry in the Brian L. Davis book that states they were for 9 months service in the Flak. It says they are for NCOs and other ranks. But it does not distinguish the ones with the cord around it. Any more info appreciated! Marc
    11. Does anyone know the regs for the Flak T?tigkeitsabzeichen? And the one with cord? Thanks! Marc
    12. Gents, Need a little help with some research. I am finding some disagreement in researching the first use of anti-aircraft artillery by Germany (Prussians). Many sources cite the downing of the "Daguerre" in 1870, but some say it was a Krupp Balloonabwehrkanone (BAK), others say the BAK never scored a kill. Does anyone have any onfo to help me out? Thanks, Marc
    13. Rick, Sorry for not being more explicit. I need guys wearing the badges. Thanks! Marc
    14. Thanks mate! Appreciate your offer. But I have a ton of shots and i am looking for the rare (RAD Flak), Obscure (POW Flak), and the non-existent (Flak-Helferin). KEEP THE OFFERS FLOWING! DOCS TOO!!!! Especially Heimat Flak with a badge if anyone has a doc or photo!!! Marc
    15. Thanks Jos - but I need ones with the Flak badge. Thanks, Marc
    16. Gents, The 1st draft of the flak book is coming to a close, but I still have some requests for photos and docs. If you would like your items pictured in a book on Flak badges, please e-mail me! marc@garlasco.com Need these with flak badge photos, docs, soldbuch, wehrpass, etc. Heimat-Flak RAD-Flak Flakhelferin Here is your chance! Don't buy the book and say, "I wish he had asked me, my stuff would have made the book a lot better..." Help make it a stellar book!!! Many thanks! Marc
    17. Gents, Do you have any wartime adds for Flak badges? Or adds for the makers listed below that I could use in the Flak book I am writing? Thanks! Makers: Assmann Berg & Nolte Gustav Brehmer Gebrueder Wegerhoff Hobacher Juncker Friedrich Linden Steinhauer & Lueck Wernstein
    18. Gents, Working on my Flak book and need some interesting things to say about this guy so can you tell me what he has? Thanks! Marc
    19. Gents, It is with great happiness that I announce the first very rough draft of the Luftwaffe Flak book has been completed! It will eventually come out in the Heukemes series on war badges. I will spend the next two months revising it and then will link up with my cohort on Heer Flak and hopefully we can have it out in 2007! But there is a lot of work still to go. I am presenting a study of Juncker eagles below from various Flak badges. There are two known patterns, but a possible third has surfaced. I am honestly not 100% that it is a completely new pattern, but you will see it MAY not fit the other two patterns. Please review and let us discuss. Juncker First Pattern These are distinguished by the narrow line of feathers on the right facing wing, and the small and sharp claws. They have only been seen on first pattern wreaths. You will note the first one is flawless and IMHO the best Juncker flak I have ever seen. The second one is the same, but the silver is obscuring details as is so common on Juncker flaks. Juncker Second Pattern The second pattern is chachterized by a thicker row of feathers on the right facing wing and fat donut toes. These have only been observed on second pattern wreaths. The eagle is very serious. Interesting progression below as the last one is zinc. Note also how the second one has the details obscured by the silver but it is still within the pattern. Juncker Second Pattern on SW68 wreath This is clearly a second pattern eagle shown just for continuity sake on an SW68 wreath, which is a second pattern wreath. Possible Juncker Hybrid Pattern? These eagles have only been observed on second pattern wreaths, and indeed they have the same donut toes. The wing feathers appear to also be second pattern. The eagle's head, however seems different. The beak does not appear to have the mouth opening that just begs for a cigar. And the feather pattern as well has me thinking. Hypothesis I think the two last ones are very early second pattern eagles before the die started to alter slightly with use. This is just my theory, so I would appreciate your thoughts. Thanks! Marc
    20. Fancois - what is that last medal? Merry Christmas! Marc
    21. Ah - you have that photo! Very nice. Rare, and great to see with a true connoisseur! Marc
    22. I agree about the I Wagner. Here are my 1870s, and the EK1 is a perfect I Wagner, as you know Marshall.
