    1. I was asked to post picture,s of this tunic on another post so here it is ! This belonged to Martin Steglich and i,m going to be re-attaching his ribbon bar to it in the near future . Tunic :
    2. I,m posting the uniform on a seperate post for you uniform lover,s !
    3. Thanks for the input ! The uniform and bar belonged to Martin Steglich , i got the Bar off our own Gordon Williamson about 2-3 years ago then i got his visor cap , tunic and trouser,s of Gordon last year . Here is the bar ( it features in Gordon,s iron cross book ) :
    4. Hi , I have a 1957 sewn on ribbon bar and a 1957 uniform which came from the same man and belong together , i can see the outline of the bar on the jacket . Should i sew the ribbon bar back onto the jacket ?
    5. And 2 Cholm stickpins . small and large . The large one is the same size as is put on a miniature medal bar and the small one is the same size as the one used on a ribbon bar .
    6. Here are the only stickpins i have : 1 a Sniper patch stickpin in silver , when i looked at this it has a small circle on the back so it,s made by S & L .
    7. Nice pins thanks for showing ! I haven't seen a maker marked pin beforenow also have never seen a zinc looking 1957 pin either !
    8. Yep Gordon,s right ! Looks like it has a nice frosted finish to the front
    9. Yep Gordon,s right ! Looks like it has a nice frosted finish to the front
    10. Great i,ll be putting my name down for a copy ! I recognise the early 1957 u-boat on the bottom left on post 27 !
    11. There was a documentry on British television about them and they tracked down a surviving member to Austrailia naturally he didn't want to talk much or be seen by the camera i think mainly because he was drawing a war vets pension from the state ! I was also told a full British Free corps uniform surfaced in an amateur dramatics costume department in New Zealand not too long ago but as soon as word leaked out about it it mysteriously disappeared ! into a collection somewhere no doubt !!
    12. Nice bars Don Yes the good thing about the medal bars is that mostly they were made for vets usually in the late 50,s early 60,s so they could wear them on their Bundeswehr uniform and so have nice early quality awards on them . Later made up bars are starting to appear but are easy to spot with silly combo,s .
    13. Yep one of those cast crappy so called collector pieces from let me guess ? An Ebay seller called Marelies or something along those lines . At least the badge looks like a 1957 , half of the so called junk 1957 pieces with diamonds on Ebay are WW2 fakes that still have the eagle at the top ( these guys really need to do their research ! ) . Mind you people still bid on them ! I,ve yet to see a real 1957 with diamonds and i think the only real pieces would be Oaks but i haven't see a piece yet .
    14. Looking forward to seeing close ups of her Don . I bid on her when she was on Ebay but she went way past my budget !
    15. Sorry Paul the flood medal is the nearest i have to a mixed 1957 / Bundeswehr medal bar at the moment !
    16. Hi , Yes it is a factory error , they have attached the ring to a sword tip instead of in the middle of the swords making it look tilted . Regards Grant
    17. One of the volunteers for the British Free Corps actually came from my home town of Burnley !! His last name was Turner a Royal Engineer who was a POW and was caught getting rather friendly with a German woman when working out of the camp ! He had the option of being shot or joining the SS , hhhmmmm what a choice !!!
    18. Hello Dan , A nice wound badge you have there , i,d say from the more modern pin assembly and nice matt black finish and good detail that is a mid production piece , a lot nicer than the later one,s with the gloss black paint slapped on and smothered the detail . Well done . Grant
