    1. I thought about buying one, as I've a medal bar whose wearer had as well the Johanniter Ehrenritter. Might someone tell me, when they changed from real gold to silver gilt or bronce gilt for those?! In 1916 as with other Prussian orders, or earlier in this case? I know the order still exists until today, but i f I buy one at same point, I want one that matches to a ca. 1910 award ...
    2. Ups, sorry. Hmm, webr55's man wears his Wehrmacht long servie awards in wrong order, mine wears a oak leave that looks like the one for a 1870 Iron Cross on his WWI Baden merit medal, and Rick's General wears his Iron Cross with back on front. I guess this thread is for those people who say "there's something wrong, the bar m u s t be faked or manipulated" ...
    3. Oh, but I've showed it here, and you saw it. Okay, here're some more, hope you like them - by the way, they've also been shown yet here. The wreath on the "Iron Crown" ribbon is painted(!!!) green, unter day light you can see the little(!) different colour to the golden wreath on the right.
    4. I don't know either if I showed this one here by now?! The photos are taken in 1941 - "everything goes" not only in 20s, but as well in 40s ...
    5. The LD1 is unlikely without Centenarmedaille - but still possilbe if it's a WWI bar with switched EK II ... But is this a bar we would date in the Great War? I'd think it's a typical pre war bar, dating ca. 1890 to 1910. But this is always hard to tell. Is it possible the wearer did not want to wear the "coines" but just the crosses, leaving out the 1870 medal and maybe the 1897?
    6. I didn't think it was possible to get an 1870 Iron cross without the 1870 medal, but I'm hear to lear. One more thing: we can be sure his bar is way post 1871 as the Red Eagle order is the late type, not the elderly one with smooth arms (pre 1879) ...
    7. Actually no bad idea, but just to add: my father has a Sachsen-Coburg-Gotha SEHO with French hilts (are they called Paris? I knew them as French). It's a WWI award, nothing from the 30s ...
    8. No Jens, I don't think so. Blue is for a navy cross (or a Pussian long service or something like this, of course). This cross should have, if I understood it rigth, the ribbon with red and yellow ...
    9. Sorry, no more words to say ... But, what's the last thing, please? Something Spanish, or Romanian?!
    10. I still am not sure what sense the different ribbons make, but I'm pretty sure there has to be one. Here's the last one, I think - again a Bavarian, this time with five ribbons but six minis as he's wearing two "Regimentskreuze", but still no clasp for them:
    11. The same on a Bavarian miniature, but the Bavarian medal on a wrong ribbon ... :speechless:
    12. Here's one from "J?g. Bat. 9", which's as well green with red and yellow. I guess all J?ger Bataillone might have used this ribbon.
    13. I'd say: neither infantry, artillerie, kavallerie nor navy, but ... "Verkehrstruppen" The only cross I know is for "Feld Verk. Reg. 66", but I've got no idea what ribbon matches here. It might be one of those common ones for infantry, like in posting #14.
    14. My guess is: none of those! I'll have to look fot it .. Our "137er" had as well the red and green ribbon, but I've never seen this again and don't think this is the usual one for infantry ...
    15. Hey Claudio, thanks for your explanations, but I'm not sure if they are all right ... ? Here a bar with "Inf. R. 11. M.L.W.", the ribbon as well with red and yellow, but no Garde - but the Unit is from Baden!
    16. And this ribbon bar has been shown by a German collector on another forum, and I have a bad feeling with it again. The backing says 1940s, and the combination of a Bavarian with no peacetime awards but a civil Württemberg merit medal is unlikely. Were this tiny swords in use in 1940s? Rick, please your opinion ...
    17. To prevent this time any misunderstandings with posting bars I do not like as fake bars: How do you like this bar sold by Mr. Niemann? The backing is ... I know such backings which cover not only the bar, but as well the award's backs from Austrian monster fake bars and have never yet seen something like this on a good bar.
    18. Yeah, me too, I think. If we all work together this should bring a result ... I have been selling dozens of those, but almost all had new ribbons mounted so no big help for the ribbon mystery.
    19. I think Rick missed to post mine from http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?s=&showtop...st&p=182882, didn't he? I won't scan any more as long as the yet posted aren't worked in ...
    20. I actually don't know if they're for military or any good "Sch?tzen", but what I know: they're actually pretty common. Often seen with Wilhelm I. and Wilhelm II., not thaaat common with Friedrich Wilhelm IV. or Friedrich II., of course. But ever seen one mounted on a medal bar?! I've to look for old crappy pictures, think my father used to have one a looong time ago ...
