These were: - Herero-Land - Onganjira - Waterberg - Omaheke - Gross-Namaland - Karas-Berge - Gross-Nabas - Auob - Nurudas - Nossob - Oranje With a new decree of 11.11.1908 Kasier Wilhelm II. added 3 new bars and changed "Nurudas" into "Narudas": - Omararuru - Fahlgras - Toasis Last bars (Kalahari 1908) was added on 05.08.1912. The first 11 bars were created together with the medal. So I think you should get both awards - the medal and the fitting bar(s), at the same time ??? greetings eitze

    5. @ Laurence I think so. The baton (without R ) was made of .900 silver by the firm of "Braca Knaus" (Zagreb or Agram as it was called that time), the manufactorer of almost all Croatian decorations and badges. greetings eitze
    6. And here are the pictures of the barton and case. This set was offered by Hermann Historica, Auction October 1997. The asking price was 85.000 DM and it was, of course, not sold greetings eitze
    7. Hello, here you see a photo of Marschall Slavko Kvaternik with the neck order of the "Eisernes Dreiblatt" and EK I.. In his hands you can see the Croatian Marschall Barton, which was awarded by the Poglavnic Dr. Ante Pavelic on 13. April 1941, the day when he was made Marschall and Chief of the Croatian Army.
    8. Darrell you are right. That were my first thoughts, when I saw the 2 pictures - especially the one of Gen. Wardak and his sunglasses greetings eitze
    9. But after all the laughing the sad question is: who the hell is going to bid on such rubbish Even if I am not a serious collector, but I`m still a collector. That means I should have a little background information about the sphere I`m interested in !! I can`t believe this greetings eitze
    10. Hi , all gold pieces I know do have also golden swords So perhaps someone thought a golden medal with swords is better than without! But as we know, the one without swords is more rare than with . Numbers from the Efler book: - golden medal .....265 - same with X ......412 So remove the X and you have a lttle treasure Here you can see my X-piece. greetings eitze
    11. Thank you so far. Beside all this nobody knows, if the photo was part of the original lot. On the bigger pictures I can`t find anything wrong on the rim with the perls, but you never know especially on ebay In the next auction of the "Hanseatisches Auktionshaus f?r Historica" on 11.08.2006 you can also find a silver medal of the Star of Brabant (Lot 1904) for 300 Euro. Below you can see the picture from their homepage: http://www.hanseatisches-auktionshaus.de/index1.html greetings eitze
    12. Hello, what do you think of the 2-piece medal bar with the Medal of the Order Star of Brabant ?? http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...mMakeTrack=true There are a lot of copies of these medals on the market. Is this a original one ?? Greetings eitze
    13. This piece was ordered by me directly at the "Kleiderkasse der Bundeswehr", twenty years ago when I was a member of the German Airforce. Unfortunately I was a beginner in collecting ODM and so I didn`t know nothing about the order of wearing You see a RK with EL, but no EK 1 or 2 !!! But the guys at the Kleiderkasse mounted everything you ordered, without asking Greetings eitze
    14. Hi, here`s a group to a Kriegsmarine-Member: Ribbon Bar and Chain. Greetings eitze
    15. If you have a shiny gilt or the above brown clasps, with this laser-made letters which all look the same - caution Here you see a piece which I bought via ebay two years ago for 166 Euro I `ve sent it to D. Niemann for a "Expertise" and he certified, that it is a "Original" - but beware: this clasp is definitly a FAKE !!! After I bought it, the seller offered several other pieces - all in the same design and also another "Ponape" clasp So I have paid for my stupidity and learned for the future Greetings eitze
    16. You have to be very careful if you want to buy German Colonial items on ebay. I think over 90 % of the medals and clasps are crap Here you see two examples sold last year. The first went for 167 Euro and the second for 113 Euro.
    17. Here we got Oldenburg: Haus- und Verdienstorden, Ritterkreuz 1. Klasse - obverse
    18. And here are some pictures I got today from Mr. Zeige. Hessen-Darmstadt: Philippsorden, Ritterkreuz 2. Klasse - obverse
    19. Henry the Lion is one of the finest orders I know. It would exactly fit into my showcase But I think you won`t get it below 1000 Euro Greetings eitze
    20. Hello, not so easy to get spare plates I think the only way is ebay - sometimes these are offered single or in groups. But beware, often they become expensive. These pieces are sought after by many collector`s to complete groups. In the current Germany Army it is no longer common, to wear such a big "Ordensspange". As far as I know, there is only one firm left here who mount such groups: http://www.a-bender.de/Home.html And although the homepage says, that they are official supplier, they do not sell decorations and accessories directly to private customers So make it yourself or wait on ebay !! Greetings eitze
    21. And second the enclosed letter (= ?bersendungsschreiben): Greetings eitze
    22. Hello Jacques, as you wish, I`ve uploaded the documents in this new thread First the preliminary document:
    23. Nice - this should be the shop or istitute of the late Dr. Kurt-G. Klietmann, called "Die Ordenssammlung". It looks like he mounted with his own buttons greetings eitze
