    1. There are slight variations in Quality, but I think which ones are "nicest" are mostly dependant on the collectors personal taste, so it would be hard to work that in... Blitz was collecting stats...
    2. A fantastic set sold by Emig..... Everything mint..... but filter sickness.... http://www.kpemig.de/Segeltuchtasche-mit-Gasmaske-und-Filtern-Deutsch-1Weltkrieg
    3. You know what would be an interesting? If a 1-10 scale was introduced for EK2 makers... i.e. The most comman KO variation and stamp being a 1, the scarcest maker being a 10, and all others on a sliding scale in between....
    4. Men of the 53rs RIR in June 1916, very possibly fresh from training with SB Rohr as they were in the same sector and Rohr was doing the training there...
    5. Indeed... but I still maintain that a price trend can only be correct if a large number of sales are calculated in. Auctions can be fickle...I once bought a QSA and KSA to the Cape Garrison Artillery (Valued at maybe GBP 120) for close to GBP500... by some small, small coincidence, another guy wanted them because the name was Boonzaier... if I had not seen the Auction by chance, he would have bought them for GBP75... noone else was bidding.... Best Chris
    6. I am always sceptical of using Auctions as a barometer... Quite often the Auctions are won by dealers, who then get double for the item on their sites.... :-(
    7. Hi, sorry, I cannot scan any other pages, I did a one on one for some WW1 documents. Best Chris
    8. Here is one....I missed a superb, super rare group to a Colonial officer, but as a booby prize the seller sold me the guys beer mug and an extra EK1 out of the group. Stupidly I forgot the guys name....
    9. That on top of it ;-) I once had an original in my hands... I think it safe to say an original is one of the best quality badges the 3rd Reich produced.
    10. Sone time ago on ebay there was a Photo of a guy wearing one of those fuse pulling plates on his chest... did anyone save it, or have a good pic of a guy wearing one? Thanks Chris
    11. Hi, does anyone have (probably an Allied Postcard) a pic of a fuming Kaiser? Thanks Chris
    12. Another theory that I have developed over the years.... There are exceptions, that may be explained... My theory was/is... the awards for infantry Regiments were initially approved at Korps level, but some time in 1916 the responsability was transfered to Divisional level. This is based on viewing hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of documents. There are obvious exceptions that had been bugging me... the 4th ersatz Division awarded from the start of the war... but as I found out this week, the 4th "reinforced" division was actually a Korps. There are also some Korps that were awarding in 1917 and 1918... My theory, based on nothing concrete, is that when the standard Korps System gave way to the more flexible Generalkommando z.b.V., the transfer of divivions became more frequent than with the older Fixed Korps structure, and the passing up of proposals from Comapny, battalion, Regt, Div, Korps was no longer practcle, especially if a division changed sectors and was under a different command... so the responsabilty was passed down to Divisioanl commanders? Any thoughts?
    13. Does anyone have any Beer Mugs with an Iron Cross theme?
