    1. As the war service cross is missing from the later one, methinks 2 different guys...
    2. Hi, I am pretty sure not... they were awarded at Army, Brigade, Divisional, Regt and in some cases even battalion level... I have never seen any mention of a central register... even then, I have a couple of groups with guys who got 8 citations, each wozuld have been an award on its own in the USSR system... even the Regt war diaries dont have the awards listed. best chris
    3. Oooohh... all kinds of Non EK thingies.... I am never very good at any of them... cant say for sure...
    4. So.... any hints as to who the winner was?? :-)
    5. A pre HK bar, and a post HK award bar... the guy must have had a lot of money to just go out and buy a new set of medals if it is the same guy!!!!
    6. Hi Mervyn, I checked it against a known original, it is a good to go piece, the mid to late war emergency plastic badges, with correct maker etc. They are not often seen and little known (to me at least) All the best Chris
    7. Still trying to find out the fine line that divides a Black-White ribbon from a White-Black ribbon to two men serving in Germany....
    8. Some good relevent cross references to this thread.... http://gmic.co.uk/index.php/topic/56668-curious-medal-bar-and-a-question/
    9. I would not pay spit extra for Sperrle, all the LW ones have a good name on them, but I agree this unit is fantastic !!!!! Probably worth what the Sperrle inflation was!
    10. This is also very scarce as VB were not approved in WW2, and forbidden after (I forget the date)...
    11. Here is a scarce one, a special print for the 79th Division... one of the few Unit specific Prints I have seen....
    12. Here is I think a scarce variation.... and to an interesting recipient. I was lucky enough to have a few docs of his for a while....
    13. Hi Terry, Fantastic find! I remember as a kid the kid over the road from us showed us some stuff under his parents bed, 3 rifles from the Boer war, a martini Henry, a Boer Mauser and a Lee Metford.... we liked the MArtini because you could crank it... Another guy my father worked with in Capetown had inherited a farm.... after the Anglo-Boer war a Boer commando had disarmed there... he found a load of rifles in the barn... in what would seem like sacrilege today, he took them all to a gunsmith to have them redone and sold them as shooters... :-(
    14. Heres a thing.... there is no mention of a wound anywhere.... Maybe he was in a bunker that collapsed and everyone thought he was atomised?
    15. Another possibility of course would be war service on the homefront (Within the borders)... but I still dont know how the Bavarian fits in there... It is of course possible to get the BMVK as a soldier, be invalided and then get "civilian" medals for Kriegshilfe.... but then if he served at the front for the BMVK, then howcome he has no swords on the HK? I am at a loss... I can see how all would fit together, OTHER than the Bavarian....
