    1. Indeed there are, but only about 10-15 EK docs. It is the best source on Prussian docs. hamelman has, if I remember correctly, over 120, maybe 150 EK docs. It is well worth having a copy, I left mine out in the rain some time ago, but it is still usable.
    2. After going on 40 years on this earth.... I learned a new word today........ pachyderms..... Thank You RickL !
    3. I forgot to include back then, the F.I.D. was "Field Intel. Dept.", not something that can be known if you dont have a small pile of Boer war books.
    4. Hi, so whats the verdict on "Tommy at Gemmecourt" ? I have the Sheldon one (of course.... its a must have.)
    5. Anyone have any pics of Brit WW1 gasmasks? And maybe an idea of where they can be found for cheap prices ;-)
    6. Well, guess what arrived on my doorstep yesterday.... :-) Tom Young is a man among men, a collector buddy like no other... and he has a cool beard.... My theory about the sentence... during the war our man was a plain old factory owner... his doc has his a.D. title, but unlike the usual officials who got this, he was no longer one, hence the mention of it being so scarce outside of govt official circles. Any advances on that?
    7. How many of you Imperial collectors own (or in some cases, know of) the Hamelman book about Imperial Iron Cross documents? It is long out of print, the quality of the printing is not good and it has numerous errors, but that can all be overlooked as it is a relatively early work and in those days info was much harder to come by... and it is the only Imperial EK doc book around so far.
    8. I must check up on what I find in the books, but who has white ribboned EKs in their collections and who recieved them? Beamten, Military, doctors.... But how many real "Civilians"?
    9. really strange... http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/01/11/spy.coins.ap/index.html
    10. I cannot find it at the moment, but I think i have a copy of the second photo labeld in German "Canadian dead at Ypres"
    11. The buttons are not original to the jacket as i found out later.
    12. From a Jacket I bought by mistake some time ago.... nice handwork though....
    13. I already have 8th and 10th of July clasps... have been looking for a 9th of july clasp for ages.... ;-)
    14. Sounds like an interessting medal.... nce to have a named french one...
    15. Blah...blah...blah.... cut the B.S. and open a thread about "Sleaze nation"... who cares about "The Times", give us the interesting stuff...! (do they have a homepage ??? )
    16. Maybe a small chance they are Boer war? There were many small units that had their own badges made up.... ...and I see googling t does bugger all good.
    17. The letters are indeed Thai, going by the fake medal I bought on vacation.
    18. Hi, educate me here.... is Saim just Thailand or does it include any other "new states"?
    19. Which other army allows beards in 2007 ?? Good video by the way. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8hOaSHO3tiI...ted&search=
    20. Unfortunately, in retropect, I never kept anythin I picked up in my army days... I gave it away or traded it for WW2 German. I had some neat things... numbered wings from Zaire, Bosnian badges etc. I found this a few years ago in an old bag... if I remember correctly it was C.F.A. Military police..
    21. I dont know if this is WW1 or just after the war... I assume the latter... in the bad old 1920s... I found it in a junk sho in Istanbul-
    22. Here you go http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=12269
    23. Hi, watch this space... I know little about the subject but the forum has just the people to help you. I think the group you have may be split (i.e. the non silver medals discarded), but you may still have a good chance of finding at least some info on him.
    24. Nice doc, I have about 7-8 different ones, but have not yet seen this one. Best Chris
