I think it has to be subjective... Mybe even related to your favourite sector, or a Regt that you happen to have good stuff to... I have a weekness for Bavarian Jäger and Leib Regt (Alpenkorps) and 37RIR and 37 Füs (10 RD) and 12 Bavarian IR.... and...and..and... The British would not rate the Germans in French sectors, and vice versa... and by the time the Americans could rate units facing them they were often just shells of what they had been 2 years before....

I think the possibilities are endless. Merchant navy or shipping company.... It could have been a steam ship company in Chile, or the private boat of some pascha... I would think there were many small companies that designed their own uniforms, depending on the tast of the owner... or his wife. best Chrisd

I have a number of EK1s to Senior NCOs and a handfull to Gefreiter, but this is the lowest ranking EK1 I have.

I think the problem is... sailor suits are more or less generic... Put a Swedish, French, Chinese, Australian and Peruvan navy Officer in a line up, blank out the faces... and unless you are a specialist, noone will know who is who... Best Chris
