      If I remember correctly, there should be almost unreadably thin stamps on the edges of the cross with silver content etc. I cannot remember there being stamps on the ring...(I am talking for the 100% no questions asked pieces) best Chris

      In 1916 both the 3rd and 4th Garde Regiments were on the Somme. At some stage the 6th Garde Feld Arty regiment jumped from the 3rd div to the 4th div... Does anyone have an idea when that was? I am guessing when the 3rd left the Somme the regiment stayed behind? Both divisions seemed to jump between eastern and western front...

      Hi, At the time it was signed the division was pulling back to Germany... but thats not it... :-)

      Leutnant Scheel commanded a section in the 1st MG Komp of the RIR214 in 1918... More I do not know... Does anyone know anything more? The name of his dog? Did he like Blondes? And help greatfully appreciated. Thanks Chris

      Hi, thanks Glenn. Andy Baus gave me the bad news as well. It seems he was a major all that length of time as well. I was hoping that a Majot regt commander would be either a 1) Temp command or 2) he would promoted, allowing me to somehow date the award (no date on it) no such luck :-(
