    1. If I remember correctly, there should be almost unreadably thin stamps on the edges of the cross with silver content etc. I cannot remember there being stamps on the ring...(I am talking for the 100% no questions asked pieces) best Chris
    2. Thanks Ruhmeshalle misses it completely and as the index for 252 divs is still under wraps somewhere I had no idea where it was
    3. Super, thanks, my 252 divisons was waaay out on that. Nice to see you back!
    4. In 1916 both the 3rd and 4th Garde Regiments were on the Somme. At some stage the 6th Garde Feld Arty regiment jumped from the 3rd div to the 4th div... Does anyone have an idea when that was? I am guessing when the 3rd left the Somme the regiment stayed behind? Both divisions seemed to jump between eastern and western front...
    5. Hi, At the time it was signed the division was pulling back to Germany... but thats not it... :-)
    6. Confirmed this this week. They amalgamated the offices as I guess the workload this long after the war no longer justified 2 separate departments. Best Chris
    7. Working through piles of docs for the book project and I came across this long forgotten piece... This is an essential doc to include for one good reason.... anyone want to guess ...
    8. I am having trouble placing the Reserve Feldartillerie Regiment 40.... does not seem to have been in a division anythere.... it is a Sachsen unit... Anyone have a clue? Thanks Chris
    9. Ok, Another thought.... no mention of d.Res.... is he in some kind of Rank list?
    10. Thanks Uwe, that cleared up the missing links. best Chris
    11. Nice pieces... I have never seen these before. I wonder how many different ones were made?
    12. Can anyone take a stab at this guys family name? :-( Thanks Chris
    13. Leutnant Scheel commanded a section in the 1st MG Komp of the RIR214 in 1918... More I do not know... Does anyone know anything more? The name of his dog? Did he like Blondes? And help greatfully appreciated. Thanks Chris
    14. I get 90% of it... but can anyone give me the full gist? Thanks Chris

    18. Absolutely spectacular. For some time now I have thought these Glory medals are the best research possibilty out there, all nations included. If I could pick up 100 of then I would do it right away. best Chris
    19. Sorry, I have no idea... but if there is a variation... I want it!!!

    22. Hi, Does anyone have a pic that is identifiable as being a copper? Thanks Chris
    23. Hi, thanks Glenn. Andy Baus gave me the bad news as well. It seems he was a major all that length of time as well. I was hoping that a Majot regt commander would be either a 1) Temp command or 2) he would promoted, allowing me to somehow date the award (no date on it) no such luck :-(
    24. A silly question, but is the order of medals right?
