    1. Dont you just love some dealers.... USD360 and its yours.....
    2. I just stumbled across this thread by coincidence... interesting badges... obviously pre RZM? What exactly are they for? NSDAP victims of SDP aggresion? Best Chris
    3. Does the bullion (and quality of the work) look anything like one would expect? Best Chris
    4. Nice!! Any more photos out there? Thanks Chris
    5. That is a nice group to find !!! Almost 50 years ago ...
    6. An added advantage is the hand made one will develope a patina. It hangs a bit higher on the ribbon as well, but I think that is a positive change,,,,
    7. You can see the difference in size... the Industrial one is heavier and clumsy next to the "hand made" one. The central device has been reused...
    8. The sterling silver one is a tad smaller, somehow "Finer" than the industrial medal.
    9. Here are three stages of a medal. Left is the "Industrial age medal"... maybe never touched by human hands until awarded. Anyone who has held one will marvel the chrome, heavy stamped pieces, sharp edges and admittedly not bad finish. Middle is the same, the keyring finish ground off the back, the chrome removed, the shapr corners and edges removed, then silver plated. Right Using the old key ring clunker as a model, a "hand made" using a mold version with an improved hanger....
    10. Allow me to coin a phrase :-)... or two.... "Ego bar"... The medal bar created when your ego does not allow you to settle for off the shelf awards... which are just as good. I dont think ANYONE other than a collector would be able to tell the difference between any of these and an off the shelf bar. "Industrial age medals"... Modern stuff.... like the Saudi and Kuwaiti, and French commemorative and TRN. At some stage we moved from "Medals from the mint" to "Medals from the factory"... the best way to follow this is the difference between the early Outre-Mer medal and the later one....
    11. Although not an EK, this needed to be added to the "Rohr" subject. The earliest thing I have ever seen to the unit, when it was simply called the "Sturm-Abteilung" http://www.kaiserscross.com/40029/129601.html
    12. Outstanding ! Superb pieces, awesome display!!!! I have often said that WW1 and WW2 is sadly unappreciated and should e the next collecting wave......
    13. How about an Iron Cross to a Bavarian Prince? I am not sure if the EK was his... but the doc was :-)) http://www.kaiserscross.com/60401/145101.html
    14. Here ya go... http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=2646...mp;#entry250055
    15. Apparently the death of Prinz Wilhelm of Prussia in the French campaign was used as an excuse by Hitler to pass the Prince decree. In the guise of saving the royals he excluded them from service in the Wehrmacht. In May of 1941 Prinz Adalbert of Bayern was "retired". His son had been released a couple of months before.
    16. The Bavarian Princes were swept out in Spring of 1941. It was a "Prinzen Erlass"
    17. In 1941 it seems that any Princes in the Wehrmacht were made redundant... Does anyone have any reference to this? Thanks Chris
    18. An unusual commendation certificate to e teacher for preparing his students for the military service.
    19. OK... its been a loooong time coming... see the whats new page for some nice stuff... http://www.kaiserscross.com/130701/home.html
    20. I have about half a dozen of this Divisional EK doc, but this is the first EK 1 version I have found. Nothing nicer than an early or mid war EK1 to an NCO. In this case Unteroffizier "Kalbfleisch" For some reason I know the name... I am not sure if anyone else has something to him.....
    21. I saw a couple of "Real" un-awarded pieces at Haiger. I think the ones that went out of the factory back door. Nothing like this !!
