Imagine if they used the same style of imagery on the military medals!!!

I have driven past a number of these battlefields, but have never yet stopped. At some stage in life I hope to visit them.

Found some this weekend....

I was yesterday offered a Tan painted WW1 Artillery helmet. Does anyone know if they were painted tan during WW1? Or was this postwar?

C`mon guys, she did not create the hype. She was more or less a victim of it. To revoke it would mean wrong doing on her part. She may not be sgt. Rock but I am sure there are many medals out there that were awarded because of hype. Remember way back when? The 3-4 GIs that were captured in the Balkans? They made a wrong turn, were captured..... and got medals? Not their fault either...

He is a fascinating man to study, He published a few books (fiction and non fiction) on the war, founded the German Boyscout movement (Pfadfinder), was a batln commander in the 27th IR when they took L?ttich, Was military commandant of L?ttich then Brussels in 1914. He was then tasked with forming the 27th J?ger bataillon, a semi-secret unit of finnish volunteers then ended up dying under suspicious circumstances on a one man patrol on the western front after taking over a regt.

Indeed... but the description was in German on german Ebay.... If he had done it in German on Ebay.com it would have been an obvious sting...

On the other hand, In the heading, and in the description he says over and over again that it is JUST the photos... and he is offering it on GERMAN ebay. If I saw something like that on Polish or Bulgarian eaby I would get the description translated BEFORE bidding. Maybe he is working on the "A sucker born every minute..." thing, but it could be that he is thinking "I wish these people would READ before they bid !!!!" I dont see how anyone could try and claim back from Ebay?

Bayers account is very interesting as he WAS there. What I find very surreal is the very casual way he writes about them chasing the Herero to their doom.

I find Peter Moor a very important book. It may be fiction but 1) It was a "bestseller" of its time 2) It captures the "Zeitgeist" of the German reading public and their thoughts aout the war. I think the author presents incidents, stories and sentiments that actually did happen or were expressed, and the german public lapped it up. Especially interesting in the casual way they think about wiping out the Herero.

From his description it was a pinback affaier with a sort of wings on it. I have not seen it?
