    1. Smuts was a hard bugger, but also a great statesman. Here is an original pencil drawing of Smuts, WW2 era. It is signed by him and the guy who drew it.... also an ebay buy...
    2. Just confirmed my Purple heart was for a gas victim of the 89th Division. Nice little goody. I want to eventually add an article about him (or his unit) to my homepage.

    10. Man, there are REAL works of art among the Regt badges... Deschler, Wagner etc. etc... way prettier than wartime medals...
    11. Somewhere in one of the books it says something about the higher grade spanish styles having a plate on the back like this.... If these were made by the some companies that made some of the terrible 1930s would badges for WW1 vets, it may not need to be WW2 quality..
    12. What is the Bronze star? It came with a WW2 campaign ribbon bar...
    13. From what I understand... A WW1 purple heart (hand engraved in the 30s)
    14. Jut what is the criteria for this? I think it is the model used up to 1909 ?
    15. Is this not in the style of the PUMA knives.... its very, very nice Bwana.
