    3. Who was Roland? The Knight pictured on the award?
    4. Once again, mostly officials. As far as I can see, although I have not read it anywhere, the white ribboned crosses seem to be only awarded within the borders of the Reich, to "non-soldiers".... not as is often claimed, to doctors or medics or officers behind the lines in non combat positions.
    5. Hi, Any idea where this Freikorps served?
    6. Why would this one day of fighting merit a badge that could be officially worn? Surely the Bavarian /M?nchen Freikorps had as much claim to "real" fighting?

    10. That last card has a nice clear shot of these... although they are set up backwards !
    11. There was a thread about compasses some time ago... I think the final conclusion was that there were no official German issue compasses in WW1? Or am I thinking of something else?
    12. Hmmmm... back to this... I dont suppose there is a chance anyone could pinpoint him for 1917-1918?
    13. I imagine it is a collecting field all on its own. I have always overlooked them as silly little things, but H?sken charges real money for them !!
    14. I wonder how he landed up with an Edelweiss... I did not know any guards units wore it?
    15. What date would the avove photo be from? I would have thought most J?ger troops would have had the G98...
    16. The troops that were rushed to GSWA after the start of the Herero uprising... they were not regular colonial troops... Did they have the same uniform?
    17. Any idea of what the shields looked like the Sturm-Abteilung Rohr experimented with in their early days? The ones that were supposed to be carried by assualt troops?
    18. What does OCA stand for? The crown on the first one... is that brit? It loks Swedish...
    19. On mine the device is seperate and moves a bit.
    20. I dont collect these, but do have one single (old) one .... Its simply an extremely cool looking badge....
    21. Hi, that looks interesting... can we see some close ups of the blade?
