    2. Beautiful photos of a rather impressive monument. Think about what the men from this town did to earn this recognition.... Thanks George!
    3. Interesting to note that on both examples of the Lenin Academy Badge there's 40 years of crud built up between the scroll and the State Seal!
    4. I was wondering how long it would be before the (Truly) Evil Twin? whipped out that rather spiffy bar of his ;>)
    5. Oh yeah..... couldn't have an EK1, without an EK2, so my guess would be EK2 alone. A pair would have had 2 B/W ribbons (in '57 style)
    6. Wow Dan, I have not seen a pure WW1 in '57 style before!!
    7. If that 1813 is fake, it's one of the best I've seen yet... the core "grain" looks like a ca. 1870-1895 one... ??????????
    8. Thanks Ricky, hope to stop by again soon so we can discuss the book!
    9. If everyone is satisfied with its' authenticicity, it may be re-listed in the eStand. Marcus, try contacting the seller directly via P/M.
    10. I'm glad I thought it looked odd. Notice the shape of the number box and the difference fron Andrei's example. This item closed at 1260- Euro (~$1600USD)..... someone will be very disappointed when they figure out their error...
    11. Hi Steve, while I believe that the bulk of the jubilee type medals from the various states were handed out to natives..... I also believe these fell into the "I was there for the party" category!
    12. And just to compare ;>) Here's the Combattant pair:
    13. Perhaps a better perspective on Brunswick & Prussia?
    14. Let's not forget..... the Brunswick EK2 equivalent.... Non-Combattant of course!
    15. The shape of the badge doesn't look right, especially from the back?!
    16. I can confirm Rick's thoughts on this. We had a wonderful St. Henry Medal group that actually included the written citation passed up the line recommending the Silver Medal for extreme bravery. It's logical to assume at least the larger states (Bavaria, Prussia) probably followed this practice as well.
    17. Hi Giorgio, my apologies if I have offended you. When there's a question regarding authenticity, it will always be moved to the corresponding forum for discussion. Whether it's my question, or any other member's question is irrelevant. Since the bulk of your participation on this forum is sales efforts (31% of your total posts, with the single most active forum you participate in being the sales forum) it is appropriate for us to keep a close eye on this activity. When other members weigh in in a positive manner, feel free to ADD this item to one of your existing sales threads on badges. NOT to post multiple threads of single items for sale. Regards, Rick
    18. Interesting reverse. We see this stitching style occasionally, but not all that often.... somebody had very good eyes!
